Granulated Alumina Powder produced by Greatsun Aopeng is available in three standard grades: 92, 95 and 99. Their alumina contents exceed 92%, 95% and 98.5% respectively, catering to ceramic production with different purity requirements.
Harmful sodium oxide impurities are strictly controlled. The Na₂O content of Grade 92 and Grade 95 is less than 0.5%, while the high-purity Grade 99 keeps Na₂O below 0.3%. The loss on ignition (LOI) of all grades is less than 5%. Our factory completes the whole production chain independently, from purification of raw alumina powder to spray granulation. We have two types of granulation towers: centrifugal towers generate fine, smooth particles exclusively for ceramic ball products; pressure towers produce dense granules suitable for all types of ceramic plates.
The volume density range is controllable, the water absorption rate stays below 0.5% and can be adjusted as requested. After firing, finished products achieve high volume density, and the shrinkage rate can be flexibly modified. All tested physical and chemical indicators surpass common industry standards. The powder features uniform particle size distribution and outstanding flowability. Customized grades and granulation processes are offered to match clients’ forming and firing techniques. There is negligible performance fluctuation between batches, ensuring consistent and stable quality.

Applications
This series of granulated alumina powder is applicable to the forming and production of all types of alumina ceramics, with two granulation processes serving segmented product sectors.Fine granules produced by centrifugal granulation towers are mainly used for manufacturing alumina grinding balls, ceramic beads and small precision special-shaped ceramic components. Dense granules from pressure granulation towers are widely adopted for alumina electronic substrates, wear-resistant ceramic liners and industrial flat ceramic parts.
Medium-purity Grade 92 and Grade 95 deliver remarkable cost performance, widely used in general wear-resistant ceramic components and high-temperature refractory ceramic precast pieces. High-purity Grade 99 with ultra-low impurities is ideal for electronic insulating ceramics and corrosion-resistant precision structural ceramics.
This product is compatible with mainstream ceramic forming processes including dry pressing and isostatic pressing, and can also be fabricated into small high-temperature refractory fittings. It covers four core industrial segments: grinding media, electronic ceramics, industrial wear-resistant products and high-temperature refractories. Key parameters such as water absorption and firing shrinkage can be individually adjusted to match customers’ own kiln firing curves, perfectly fitting automated mass-production ceramic lines.

The entire workflow, from raw material purification to spray granulation, is fully controlled in-house. The two granulation processes serve distinct purposes precisely: particles from centrifugal towers are fine, so finished ceramics after forming show no obvious pore defects on surfaces; compact granules produced by pressure towers stop ceramic plates from delaminating and cracking during pressing.
Three grades (92, 95, 99) with different alumina purity are provided for flexible selection. Harmful impurities like sodium are tightly controlled to prevent blisters and blemishes on ceramics under high-temperature firing.
Bulk density, water absorption and firing shrinkage can all be customized to customer requirements. Fired finished products boast high volume density, with improved wear and corrosion resistance. Every batch of powder delivers consistent performance, ensuring smooth automatic feeding and pressing, which greatly reduces the reject rate of cracked or flawed ceramic products.
